Head of Product Marketing 

Lightspeed is seeking a results-oriented Head of Product Marketing to manage a small team of product marketing experts responsible for the go-to-market of Lightspeed product portfolio. Reporting to the VP of Product, the Head of Product Marketing will manage the launch and lifecycle management of our product lines. The key objective of this position is to improve how we take our products to market: establish positioning and messaging; conducting market analysis; and develop tools and documents in order to ensure a fast, consistent, accurate and impactful go-to-market strategy. This individual will play a leading role in developing the company’s product marketing strategy and positioning. This role requires strong liaison with Sales, Product Line Management, and corporate marketing functions.

What you’ll be responsible for


  • Support development and implementation of market strategies to help grow market share globally for Lightspeed product portfolio
  • Develop compelling positioning and messaging that differentiates Lightspeed from the competition
  • Communicate the value of Lightspeed products to the Sales team and develop Sales tools and enablement programs
  • Identify thought leadership and customer success story opportunities to help drive product sales
  • Work with Lightspeed Product Line Management, Sales and Marketing teams to identify opportunities for new offer introductions
  • Collaborate and help to formulate strategies to foster engagement with customers ultimately leading to growth in demand for Lightspeed product offerings
  • Communicate market intelligence related to market growth and competitive positioning across the market landscape
  • Recommending current and future market positioning opportunities, including new functionality, offerings, improvements and/or business models


Develop and guide a team of product marketing experts in:

  • Using market, customer, and competitive input to develop the appropriate positioning for Lightspeed product portfolio, and drive its positioning on a global basis
  • Developing/creating sales/partner training, readiness, and collateral
  • Building strong internal stakeholder relationships and influencing customers and partners
  • Partnering with Marketing, Product Management, Design & Customer Success teams to deliver your strategy, influencing product roadmaps and advocating for experiences that drive growth and customer satisfaction


  • Conduct, gather, and interpret market, customer, and competitor research to identify and capitalize on market trends, challenges, and opportunities
  • Oversee the creation of compelling marketing brief
  • Liaise regularly with Product Line Management, Sales Engineering and Sales to understand the nuances related to deployments and customer concerns, and adjusting positioning/messaging accordingly
  • Support Lightspeed presence at trade-shows, industry forums, and analyst events, as required
  • Recommending current and future market positioning opportunities, including new functionality, offerings, improvements and/or business models
  • Learning the competitive landscape and products inside-out so that you can effectively position our products in the market as well as arm customer-facing teams with that knowledge

What you’ll be bringing to the team:

  • 10+ years working in a product marketing or equivalent role
  • Expert of strategic planning, business analysis, marketing principles, research and analysis with strong project management skills
  • Highly organized, analytical and a motivated self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal, written and speaking at events
  • Out of the box thinker, with a passion for creating and trying new things and bringing new ideas into the marketing strategy
  • Proven track record of working in a multi-disciplinary team-oriented environment
  • Proven track record of presentation, interpersonal, and communications skills (internal/external)
  • Ability to build and maintain close working relationships and act as liaison with cross-functional and external stakeholders
  • Ability to act as a positive, motivating leader who can inspire others to rise to new challenges
  • Ability to be hands-on and go into details
  • Experience is the retail and/or restaurant industry in any capacity is a strong asset
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings, industry trade-shows, as required
